Gail Brown

Gail paints exclusively with soft pastels, an exciting medium with vibrant pigments that allow for the illusion of luminosity and the creation of a variety of textures. Each painting has been inspired by one of her photos taken on travels, early morning walks or touring in our local area. Gail came to art late in life after two careers and raising two sons. She has been helped along her way by Nan Hogg, Carolyn Riddell and the workshops and encouragement of Barry McCarthy and Jessica Masters. She paints regularly with artist friends on Monday and Wednesday nights. For Gail, painting is an act of gratitude for all of the colours, shapes, rhythms and patterns of light that surround us and the gift to see them.
