Anne Dixon
“Even as a small child, I remember being fascinated by the colour and feel of fibre as it passed through my fingers. And that has never changed.”
Anne has spent a lifetime working with fibre: spinning, knitting, needlepoint, cross-stitch and, most recently, weaving. Anne began weaving 10 years ago when a friend needed a temporary home for a floor loom. After a busy career as a technology executive, retirement is giving Anne the opportunity to fully pursue weaving from her studio in Elora. Anne likes to work with finest fibres; sourced in Canada, organic when possible, and often hand spun and hand dyed. She likes to make beautiful things that people will use every day. Scarves and shawls feature predominantly in her work.
