Joining the Studio Tour

The Mission of the Elora Fergus Studio Tour is to foster, to celebrate  and to promote the artistic practice of each of our members while  cultivating a collaborative arts community for all participants. The  Studio Tour offers the public an opportunity to engage with the  artistic process and for direct sales.

  • Reside within Centre Wellington. Sharing studio space with another Studio Tour artist is an option. Applicants without adequate studio space should note this in the Artist Bio/ CV portion of their application.  
  • Display and sell original work in your studio during the two Studio Tour weekends. Only work created by you may be sold. Consumables (e.g. preserves/candy/soap) or work made from kits and molds are not permitted. 
  • Discuss your work during the tour (which may include  demonstrating your process). 
  • Display Tour signage (A-frame signs, sponsorship recognition  card, etc.) at your studio. All signage must be returned in a  timely fashion and in good condition after the Studio Tour  concludes. 
  • Submit one piece of your work for the Studio Tour Exhibition at  the Elora Centre for the Arts. 
  • Volunteer with the assigned Studio Tour committee. Opting not to  volunteer results in a $600 annual membership fee. 
  • Attend Spring/Summer/Fall General Meetings. 
  • Contribute visual content depicting your work to the Social Media Committee for promotional use by the Studio Tour.  
  • Submit photos of work, bio, and contact info to website and brochure committees.
  • Proof the Studio Tour Brochure by the print deadline.
  • Distribute Studio Tour brochures (coordinated by the Distribution Committee). 
  • There are no refunds on fees for either new or returning members.
  • New applicants are assessed by a jury of established Studio Tour  members. Criteria include the quality of the work and the  professionalism of the presentation. 
  • Required examples of work submitted with application must  demonstrate a cohesive body of work in medium and style. Images must be of high quality, in focus, and well-lit.

How to Apply (Step-by-Step)

Your application must include:

  • A completed application form
  • Artist bio and CV (include exhibitions, awards, website, and social media links)
  • Artist statement (maximum 100 words) explaining the context of your work
    List of images noting title, size, medium, and date of completion
  • Six (6) images of recent work
  • $25 non-refundable deposit
  • Application Deadline: March 1, 2026
  • Download the New Member Application Form
  •  Save the form to your computer and rename it using the following format:
    Lastname_Firstname_EFST_Application
    Example: Smith_Jane_EFST_Application
  • Complete the form and include it with your supporting materials when submitting your application.
  • Upload all required files — including application, artist bio and CV, artist statement, and six (6) images of recent work — using WeTransfer (A free account is available.) Please refer to the information at the bottom of this page for instructions on how to use WeTransfer.
  • To help us identify your files, please use the following naming convention for each document and image:
    • Lastname_Firstname_DocumentType
    • Example: Smith_Jane_BioCV.pdf or Smith_Jane_Image1.jpg
  • Send your completed WeTransfer link to info@elorafergusstudiotour.com
  • Send the $25 non-refundable application fee by e-transfer to info@elorafergusstudiotour.com
  • In the message or notes field, please include your full name and “Application fee – Elora Fergus Studio
  • Applicants will be notified of their status by May 15, 2026.
  • If accepted, membership fees are due by June 1, 2026.
  • There are no refunds on membership fees after June 1, 2026.

Deadline for application is April 30, 2026. Your application is not considered complete until both the application, supporting material and payment have been received.

Guest Artists

How to Apply (Step-by-Step)

  • Artists residing outside of Centre Wellington are eligible to apply as a Guest Artist.
  • ONLY original work created by you, the artist, can be displayed and sold during the Studio Tour.
  • Consumables (e.g. preserves/candy/soap) or work made from kits and molds are not permitted. 
  • Guest Artists will be located at our Fergus Hub and are required to:
    • be present and prepared to discuss your work during both Studio Tour weekends Sept 26/27 & Oct 3/4, 2026;
    • submit one piece of artwork for the Studio Tour Exhibition at the Elora Centre for the Arts
    • from Sept 17 until Oct 4 (Note: Artwork sold through the Studio Tour Exhibition is subject to a 35% fee, which is collected by the Elora Centre for the Arts);
    • attend the Opening for the 2026 Studio Tour Exhibition on Sept 17, 2026 at the Elora Centre for the Arts;
    • maintain an online presence, either through a personal website and/or social media, to showcase your work and to promote the Studio Tour;
    • contribute visual content depicting your work to the Social Media Committee for promotional use by the Studio Tour;
    • submit photos of work, bio, and contact info to website and brochure committees.
    • assist in proofing the Studio Tour Brochure by the print deadline;
    • facilitate all sales transactions with Square, e-transfer, etc; 
    • supply their own extension cords for any lighting they choose to bring;
    • supply their own hanging hardware (hooks, etc.) to be used with fence panels referred to below.
  • A three panel “u” shaped booth space (each welded wire temporary fence panel is 10’ wide by 6’ ht)  is provided for artists to display their work for the two Studio Tour weekends. 
  • One 6ft folding table and one chair are also provided. There is access to a kitchen to use a kettle. 
  • Free parking is available on site.
  • Note: Displayed artwork can remain overnight at the venue on the Saturday night ONLY of each weekend and must be removed at each end of day on the two Sundays of the Studio Tour.
  • Please Note: The Elora Fergus Studio Tour bears no responsibility to the Guest Artist or for the loss or damage of any artwork, display equipment and/or personal belongings of the Guest Artist.
  • Up to five Guest Artists will be juried into the 2026 Elora Fergus Studio Tour.

Returning Studio Tour Members

  • Your $300 membership fee is due no later than April 30, 2026.
  • Fees can be paid by e-transfer to info@elorafergusstudiotour.com
  • There are no refunds on membership fees after May 1, 2026
  • Returning from a sabbatical of more than one year: you must reapply as a new member, following all new member application guidelines.
  • Returning from a one-year absence: complete the Returning Member Application as outlined above..

How to use WeTransfer

WeTransfer is a cloud-based platform that allows users to send large files for free, via a web browser or its app. It works by uploading files, which generates a download link that can be sent to recipients via email, eliminating the need for accounts or logins to share files.

There is a free account option. The service also offers paid subscription tiers with more features and higher transfer limits. It is safe and simple to use!  

How to use WeTransfer:

  • Go to wetransfer.com
  • Accept All Cookies (or Manage Preferences)
  • Click “Add files”, and select the files you want to send (drag and drop is also an option)
  • Enter the info@elorafergusstudiotour.com, your email, and an optional message
  • Click “Transfer” to send via email
  • You may need to verify your email with a code to start the transfer
